Frances McDormand in “Nomaland” was my inspiration to write the little stories of this campaign for Aleve, beautifully brought to life by Miles Jay. The first film “Double Shift” marked the tone for the rest of the stories. Authentic, human, emotional, cinematic. The campaign line “Who do you take it for?” celebrates the real heroes that don’t give up in their daily lives, not only for themselves but for the people they love.

When I wrote this spot and ideated the print executions, the impossible idea of art judging advertising came to my mind. The iconic dog of Yoshitomo Nara, the characters of Mark Ryden, the Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt.

“Postcards from the Oceans” were sent to 52 leaders including the Secretary-General of the United Nations. This activist campaign was launched on World Oceans Day for European beverage startup Ocean52 that invests 52% of its profits to ocean protection. Awarded at Epica Journalists Awards.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. As a surfer, the love for the ocean runs deep in my veins and I know that rain or shine, despite freezing waters or in this case, plastic pollution, surfers will always face the waves. 2052 Surfers is a dystopian vision of the future that I will never want to happen.
